Minehead with our Bolero

Today is the 22nd March 2026 and we have driven down to the town of Minehead.  A very quaint little town with a lot of independent shops.

 

They have a very good second hand shop. We went into a cafe for a drink and got talking to another couple.  It turned out that he joined the Navy in 1966 and they got a married quarter in number 30 Wilkinson Road, we lived at 35.  They got married on the 2nd January ,we got married on the 6th. A very bizarre conversation.

We walked down to the sea front but there was quite a cold wind coming off the sea so after a quick photo we slowly walked back.

22nd March 2026

So today was meant to be back to the rain that we have had so much of lately, but we have woken to lovely sunshine.  We shall go out exploring again today and make use of the sunshine.

So for todays adventure we went to Tiverton.

Tiverton is a very tired looking town.  The car parks are smart and so are the public buildings but the shops are really run down.  A large number of them are empty and then their are the charity shops.  Still most towns are like this.  We went into a very small cafe which was nice.  Did a bit of shopping, I bought some books and Leigh bought a few bits for the van.
