Introducing, Our 2017 Swift Bolero

We feel that we have at last found the perfect motorhome to suit us.  I think we both knew as soon as we saw it that this was it, everything seemed right about it..

She isn't just any Motorhome; she's a tribute to our beloved dog and a cherished member of our family. In memory of our loyal companion, we hope Bernie, our Swift Bolero, will embody all the joy and adventure we seek in a motorhome.

Her size is deceptive, she is 25.6 feet and has a fully laden weight of 4.25 ton.

With Bernie, the world is your oyster! We look forward to countless adventures and unforgettable experiences as we explore new horizons together. The world awaits to be discovered!

Bernie was collected from Knotngly near Leeds on the 7th July 2025.  We had to be there by 9am so we travelled up on the 6th in  Ruby our camper.  By the time the trade was complete it was nearly 3pm so we then faced a long journey back home.

Gary had come up with me to help share the driving and the plan was to drop him off at Bristol on the way back.  I drove Bernie away from the dealership and continued for about 60 miles.  I then stopped and we changed places and Gary then drove the remaining 120 miles to Bristol.

Once I had dropped him off at Bristol I was then faced with driving the last 120 miles.  Rather that take her down narrow lanes I decided to go via the A30 and come in via Tavistock.  I eventually got home about 9.30 and was very tired.  It had  been a nice quiet drive down.

Now we have hr outside we have to put all the things that we took out of Ruby.  There is much more space in Bernie so we need to plan how we use that space better.  Its quite important to get the balance right so that things are stored both logically and also the weight is evenly spread.

Our bed is full size except the corner is rounded to give more room to walk by.  It is a very comfortable bed and lifts up to allow access to a large storage area.  This space can also be accessed through a door on the outside.

So as you can see we have a full sized Fridge with a nice sized freezer.  It works on both electric and gas and will automatically change.

To the side of the bed is the wardrobe and drawers and the the door into the bathroom.

The bathroom is very smart and very spacious.  All too often the toilet and bathrooms are not much bigger than a cupboard.

What really makes this motorhome special is the full width bathroom at the rear.

I had this platform custom built to carry my scooter around.  At first I had it mounted on the Autocruise.  When I sold that I had it transferred onto this motorhome.
